“Making a natural product is not difficult at all. You can take natural oils and stir them all together and you have a natural product,” says David Letschert, co-founder of Bio‑Oil®. “Making a natural product that actually performs, however, is very difficult, and we knew that this product had to perform as well as the original Bio-Oil® Skincare Oil.”
For the new plant-based formulation, the company amped up the concentration of plant-derived oils, specifically soybean and sunflower seed oils. The new Bio-Oil® also has safflower seed oil, jojoba oil, and antioxidant-rich pomegranate and chia seed oils on the ingredient list.
The best part? The all-natural product is proven to be as effective as the original Bio‑Oil® scar and stretch mark product.
“Once we finished all the laboratory work, we then submitted the product to the exact same clinical trials as the original product, so we could see if it performed at the same level,” Letchert explains. “And it did!”
